Roveli Android Privacy Policy
Astralab Studios, Inc. provides Roveli: AI Photo Organizer for Android. This policy describes how we handle information when you use the Android app. The Google Play package is com.astralabstudios.sortscout.
1. Photos, videos and cloud processing
You choose which photos and videos Roveli can access through Android's media permissions. Cloud analysis requires a separate agreement in the app. We send analysis images, including thumbnails or frames from videos, and information needed to organize your library to our backend hosted by Render and to Google's Gemini AI service. Cloud features also process your search queries, album descriptions and generated captions, labels and album matches.
Library information can include media identifiers, file metadata, dates, media type, duration and location information when it is available in the media or provided in a search. Roveli does not request your device's current GPS location. Network services receive your IP address, which can indicate an approximate location.
If you choose to set up people or creator matching, Roveli processes the reference photos and names you provide and face descriptors to find matching people in your library. We use face data for this matching feature, not for advertising or identifying people outside the feature. Server-side reference descriptors may be cached in memory for up to 15 minutes for processing.
With cloud processing enabled, we retain photo-derived search and restore records, such as metadata, captions, labels, album organization and matching results. Install-resume state can also include settings, album rules, profile names and reference images. The app encrypts that state on your device before upload. This encrypted state is separate from the photo-derived records our services can process; it does not contain your full-resolution photo or video library.
When you create a hosted album-sharing link, the selected media and album details are uploaded so people with the link can view them. Recipients may save or further share that content. Sharing through another app also makes the selected content available to that app under its own privacy practices.
2. Purchases, recovery and optional product emails
Google Play processes payments. Roveli and RevenueCat process purchase history, product and transaction identifiers, subscription status and a pseudonymous app customer identifier to provide Premium access, validate purchases, prevent fraud and restore eligible purchases. We do not receive your complete payment-card details.
After a purchase, you may choose to save a recovery email for support. Declining this option does not remove Premium access. The app stores an identity-bound profile in secure device storage and sends the recovery email, recovery status, consent choice and update information to RevenueCat with the purchase/customer identity. Current Android releases use a purpose-specific recovery field rather than RevenueCat's advertising-matching email field.
Product emails are a separate, default-off choice. Saving a recovery email does not subscribe you to them. You can change that choice or remove the recovery email in Roveli Settings when the profile is available, or contact support. Removing a recovery email does not cancel a subscription or erase store transaction records. The recovery profile does not contain photos, face descriptors, captions or other photo-derived information.
3. Analytics, diagnostics and advertising measurement
We collect app interactions, performance and crash information, device and app details, and pseudonymous installation/customer identifiers to understand feature use, diagnose problems, operate the service and prevent abuse. Our providers include PostHog for product analytics, Sentry for error monitoring and RevenueCat for purchase analytics.
Roveli does not display third-party advertisements. We use advertising measurement to understand how people find and purchase the app. Our configured attribution integrations can share purchase events, product and revenue information, app interactions, pseudonymous customer identifiers, available advertising/device identifiers and IP-derived approximate location with Meta. Advertising identifiers may be linked to information held by the advertising partner. This is separate from the optional product-email choice.
You can use Android's advertising privacy controls to delete or reset your advertising ID and manage ad-personalization choices where available. These controls do not stop purchase validation, essential service diagnostics or every form of measurement. Photos, face data and photo-derived descriptions are not supplied to advertising integrations.
4. Service providers and security
We use hosting, AI processing, storage, analytics, error-monitoring and purchase providers to deliver the functions described above. We may also disclose information when legally required or to protect users and the service. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where these providers operate.
Data is encrypted in transit. We use access controls and other reasonable safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security. Encryption of install-resume state does not mean that all app processing happens only on your device.
5. Request deletion of your data
- Email support@astralabstudios.com with the subject Roveli Android data deletion.
- Tell us whether you want all Roveli data deleted or only particular data, such as a recovery email or shared album. If you can open the app, include the Support ID from Settings so we can locate the right installation. If you cannot, explain that in your request; we may ask for limited information to verify the relevant purchase or identity.
- We will process the verified request and confirm the result or explain any information we must retain. Do not send passwords, complete payment-card details or your photo library.
Deletion can cover your recovery contact, app-linked cloud search and restore records, and hosted shared content associated with the verified request. Deleting cloud records does not delete original photos from your phone or copies other people have saved. You manage device media permissions in Android Settings; deleting original media through Roveli requires your device's confirmation.
We retain information only as needed for the relevant service, support, security and legal purposes. Inactive install-resume snapshots are scheduled for pruning after 180 days without backup activity. After a reset deletes resume data, a hashed revocation record can remain for up to eight days to prevent late uploads from recreating it. Purchase records, limited fraud/security records, legally required records and backup copies may remain where needed for those purposes and applicable retention obligations.
A deletion request or uninstall does not cancel your Google Play subscription. Manage cancellation separately in Google Play. You may also request access or correction, revoke product-email consent, or ask about applicable privacy rights using the same support address.
6. Children and policy changes
Roveli's Android store audience is adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information. We will update the date on this page when the policy changes.
